Pat Boone should never do these types of songs again!

I bought this for a joke and it is every bit as bad as I thought it would be. I don't think even people who like his music would like this.

  • Rock and roll distilled into white-bread essence.

I'm rating this a good, mostly for the novelty factor. I am not a metalhead, but most of these songs were more mainstream rock and roll than Dark Funeral, for example. Having Ronnie Dio, Richie Blackmore and Dweezil Zappa play on here was a cool touch, but the guitars were down in the mix too much for my taste. Again though, since this was heavily jammed into an easy-listening mold, in your face guitars are not normally there. I see that Sheila E. is listed in the credits as well. Some see this as Pat Boone trying to cash in one last time (as he did with some rhythm and blues hits 50 years ago). Your parents/grandparents may easily enjoy this, without being familiar with the songs. It's good to throw into a mix to surprise people, but doesn't stand on it's own very well. Shock value does ...

  • No More Mr. Guy - So bad... it's good!

Yes, it may have been a "JOKE" to his previously adoring fans of the yesteryear, but it's the ultimate Party Crasher. I played this for my co-workers to "test for effect", and they went nuts. First it was, "Oh my God!", then it wears on to you after the first half a dozen times. It is definately a ear-opener for some of the Rock / Metal classics. I am waiting for Volume II to come out. I am not ashamed to own this CD, and pass along it's soothing sounds to others.

  • No Song Deserves This.

If you want to here true metal classics murdered this is for you. The only value here is comic relief. My advice is avoid this if you can. Otherwise consider yourself warned.
