Good Option for a Quick Fix
While I expected the shades would be pleated paper as described, I thought it would be a thicker mil. Nonetheless, they are just what I needed to keep an ongoing stalking & surveillance situation to a minimum. They make the rooms VERY dark, and at night prevent any silhouetting from backlight. I used a pair of tin snips to effortlessly cut the entire thickness of the shade to the desired length. I had 3 of them installed in less than 15 minutes. Deciding on placement of the others and possibly ordering more. So far, no trouble with the tape but I shall reinforce with packing tape as it is getting more humid and hot.While I expected the shades would be pleated paper as described, I thought it would be a thicker mil. Good deal, easy peasy to install.
So far I've been pleased with these easy to install pleated paper blinds. I live in Florida and the Summer heat is a bear. They definitely decrease the heat in my Florida room. They are simple to install, just one note, try not to get your fingers on the double sided tape it's super sticky, and I'd recommend using the clips to hold the pleats in place when you install them (of course leave room to work with). Also be sure you are placing them exactly where you want them, once adhered, you can't remove them and reuse. Another note, they can be trimmed with a box cutter, make sure the box cutter has a brand new blade, even though they are paper, when pleated it's hard to cut through with a dull blade, you don't want to open the pleats to cut. Folded up crap.
There were no clips to have the shades held up if you wanted to open your window... The tape strip that's used to keep the shade in place is total crap... - thumb tacks are needed to secure the shade in place... But all the shades are are folded up sheets of paper, so why do these cost so much? Not worth the price in my opinion.
