    Some real problems

    I got this because I thought it might be really compelling. However, not far into the book he goes into what a 'generation' means, and he uses the approximate 40 years to mean a generation. This is based on modern generations, and not the 100+ year lifespans of early biblical times. Aside from that, it is a fairly good read, though the 'aside from that' is like saying: 'Aside from the air conditioning not working in the 100 degree desert heat, it was fairly comfortable.' A flaw like that is throwing the baby out with the bath water, so to speak. Written as an attempt to scientifically prove biblical claims, it proceeds to dismiss one of the most critical claims of the Torah. To utilize modern ages in order to quantify previous lifespans is ludicrous. If you used modern day football ...
