    Definitely looking for more by this author***

    This is an EXCELLENT collection of fictional short stories by a first-generation Chinese-American woman inspired by her immigrant parents and the clash of old world/new world cultures. Her writing and her stories are versatile, and her characters have depth. I picked-up this book because I haven't had much personal experience with Chinese culture...only learned knowledge and what's generally available in America at-large. Reading stories, even fiction from a Chinese woman's pen, gave me new insight and taught me a great deal about this culture's intergenerational relationships as compared to my own (Italian-American). Additionally, I just love the style in which Kathyrn Ma writes. I literally couldn't put this book down and have already passed it on to my friends. This is my first contact ...
