STORY: Late in the 20th Century, the world's most powerful nations agreed to disarm all their nuclear weapons so everyone could live without the fear of nuclear war. But the crazy dictator of Sovinia, a small rebellious country, continued to fantasize about ruling the entire planet. So, when the power-hunger ruler joined with an alien force, the Allied Countries of Earth were left helpless. An attack ensued with unprecedented aggression and determination. Now united in the fight against the invaders, the world's greatest scientists develop the ultimate weapon: Strike Gunner. With limited resources, only two could be built, and you've been selected to pilot one of them. Now the fate of the Earth is in your hands now go out there and show everyone what it takes to be a hero! Strike Gunner is a 2d vertical scrolling shooter where you play as an airplane blasting your way through 8 different levels. Each of which are of a unique nature and with hundreds of enemy planes, Tank, Helicopters and spaceships that are trying to blow you out of commision. The game is fairly short but a fun experience and is quite immersive. The music is something you can enjoy listening to and the sounds are above the average SNES sounds you find in most other games. The sounds have good bass and sound very realistic. Your machinegun pounding a boss, Your atomic missile going boom or the boss going kaboom all sounds great. The levels take place in the order of Jungles,Deserts, The sea, In orbit of earth, Open space, Over the moon, And the rest I shall not spoil as it's an awesome ending! At the beginning of each level you have several cool weapons you can choose from as secondary weapons to your main weapon the machinegun. Some of the best include Laser cannon, Seeker missiles, Plasma shield, Atomic missile and much more to blast your way trough the levels with. But watch your ammo bar and you can only use the weapon you choose once in any given level. So give it a try if you still have an SNES and come across this game! It's a good way to unwind in evenings to plug this in and blast your way to the moon and beyond! 9.0 out of 10.0Read full review
This is a game I particularly played a lot back in my country. I've always liked car racing games and combat planes games. This one I liked for the graphics, the option of selecting different special weapons for each stage, the combinations when playing with a player 2. And also the tunes I liked;very nice music written and programmed by these japanese guys.
