    A great classical SLR for a backpacker

    You can do better for a camera...you can do worse. Important to me was the built in pop-up flash and photo taking RAW image files. Weight---I'm a backpacker so this being Canons lightest weight EOS was critically important. I happily worked my SL-1 to death (counter rolled over 3 times.) Looking forward to expanded video features on the SL-3 I haven't used yet.

    After a Week of Bare minimum use with this camera it just went black one day and never turned on even when the battery was charged and my 500+ when straight down the drain
