Didn’t know it wouldn’t work with the stock 4-pin to 6-pin jumper like every other 4-pin accessory does. Hooked it up and it made the 980 scan channels when unkeyed. Asked seller for the 6-pin wiring diagram / fix. I had to order a diode separately, but after installing the diode in the jumper the EC-1 worked fine. Having links to their other listings wired for different radios would have helped. All is well now, and i got it for a great price.
