This may be the eighth copy of DSOM I have owned; and it may be the best (though some seriously-deluxe versions have been released since the release of this one in the '90s). There are two issues. One is major and the other minor. The worst thing about Mobile Fidelity products is their proprietary CD retention system. It very frequently cracks the CD. Get a new jewel case before it happens to you! The second is that there are no additional liner notes. I would love to have read about what went in to making this reissue as I am very curious about personnel and master tape sources and the like. That's it. This magnificent opus has been reviewed thousands of times. Time to review something new.

This is a cd made of gold so it is attractive mainly to collectionists sound from this type of CDs might sound better for some listeners but if you just like to listen to music without being a fan of pink floyd you won't really find much of a difference! If you have the money to spend get it so you can have a collection of CDs made of gold, but if you are not really a fan, a regular cd will do the job and for way less money!

Gold CD from original masters, no "audio enhancements", no stupid digital EQ-lard, plays as from distribution tape (I know what I´m talking about - I heard it). Buy and keep, this a ultimate digital issue. Everything newest (remastered, SACD etc) is bad, bad, bad. Old MFSL rules. Again: Buy and keep.

IN LIFE YOU HAVE TO EAT SLEEP POOP PAY TAXS AND OWN AT LEAST 1 COPY OF THE DARKSIDE OF THE MOON. Home, home again. I like to be here when I can. When I come home cold and tired It's good to warm my bones beside the fire. Far away across the field The tolling of the iron bell Calls the faithful to their knees To hear the softly spoken magic spells. Us, and them And after all we're only ordinary men. Me, and you. God only knows it's noz what we would choose to do. Forward he cried from the rear and the front rank died. And the general sat and the lines on the map moved from side to side. Black and blue And who knows which is which and who is who. Up and down. But in the end it's only round and round. Haven't you heard it's a battle of words The poster bearer cried. Listen son, said the man with the gun There's room for you inside. "I mean, they're not gunna kill ya, so if you give 'em a quick short, sharp, shock, they won't do it again. Dig it? I mean he get off lightly, 'cos I would've given him a thrashing - I only hit him once! It was only a difference of opinion, but really...I mean good manners don't cost nothing do they, eh?" Down and out It can't be helped but there's a lot of it about. With, without. And who'll deny it's what the fighting's all about? Out of the way, it's a busy day I've got things on my mind. For the want of the price of tea and a slice The old man died. The lunatic is on the grass. The lunatic is on the grass. Remembering games and daisy chains and laughs. Got to keep the loonies on the path. The lunatic is in the hall. The lunatics are in my hall. The paper holds their folded faces to the floor And every day the paper boy brings more. And if the dam breaks open many years too soon And if there is no room upon the hill And if your head explodes with dark forebodings too I'll see you on the dark side of the moon. The lunatic is in my head. The lunatic is in my head You raise the blade, you make the change You re-arrange me 'til I'm sane. You lock the door And throw away the key There's someone in my head but it's not me. And if the cloud bursts, thunder in your ear You shout and no one seems to hear. And if the band you're in starts playing different tunes I'll see you on the dark side of the moon. "I can't think of anything to say except... I think it's marvelous! HaHaHa!" All that you touch All that you see All that you taste All you feel. All that you love All that you hate All you distrust All you save. All that you give All that you deal All that you buy, beg, borrow or steal. All you create All you destroy All that you do All that you say. All that you eat And everyone you meet All that you slight And everyone you fight. All that is now All that is gone All that's to come and everything under the sun is in tune but the sun is eclipsed by the moon. "There is no dark side of the moon really. Matter of fact it's all dark."Read full review
The Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab's The Dark Side of the Moon by Pink Floyd, 1990, is nothing short of fantastic. The CD begs for a quality sound system to show off it's wide ranges. It is one of those rare CDs which sound as good, though quite different, when played at low volume. In my humble opinion, this is the real transition album from the "Old" Pink Floyd in which Meddle, Atom Heart Mother and the under rated Ummagumma ruled the undergound FM radio.
this group is still king in my book and very hard to beat have every cd they made and wish there are lots more pink floyd came out when i was 16 years old and wow there still the best pop group around, they have an incrediable story and you just got to like the way there music mixes wow what a group and the ole pot smoking gang really now how to get it going too,I can recommend this album to anyone just because its that good and now i see today why every audiophile wants a copy. you will too trust me there the best in the business.
This amazing CD is worth every penny. The high quality recording projects true details. The sounds effects are truly vivid. My favorite song in this album is "Time" which resembles the awakening of aging. The details are amazing that you can hear and feel the clarity of the highs. Two thumbs up for this true audiophile CD.
It did take a while to get here but it was worth the wait. This as most know is one of the "Premier: albums ever recorded and while the MFSL Gold CD is a lot more expensive for me it was worth the price ,and the wait. I have since ordered Steely Dan's Asa andThe Who's Tommy and a few other favorites! Thank you Ebay!

My first MoFi disc. It is undoubtedly good quality and sounds softer than the the standard CD......more of an analogue sound. Would I pay hundreds of pounds for it? No. However, if your lucky enough to find MoFi discs under £40 they are well worth investigating.

Just the absolutly best quality recording ever done of this album + it's a gold plated collector's item, that will never again be pressed again, so is it worth the money? Well, absolutely yes! Happy I was able to get one.
