The electronics work as described: these remotes actually trigger my camera's shutter from a distance, even from another room with a wall between. Depress the key halfway, the camera's autofocus kicks in; press it fully and the shutter activates.
The mechanical aspects are pretty rough, though: battery doors fit poorly, plugs are hard to insert, and on one unit the battery contacts had come loose and slipped inside the unit's casing. Lucky for me, I'm handy enough to fix things like that.
