The first thing that struck me when I unboxed these speakers was how light and cheap they felt. My doubts about them where confirmed when I replaced my original basic 2005 Chevy Colorado speakers and turned them on for the first time. The first thing I noticed was a substantial loss in volume and bass. The loss of overall fidelity compared to the base stock speakers was very noticeable. (2005 Chevy Colorado Z85 LS, stock speaker setup is 2 full range speakers in rear doors, 2 mid range in front doors, 2 tweeters in front doors). In purchasing these, I wasn't looking to make my old truck into a crazy entertainment center. I was just trying to replace the worn out speakers that it came with. One of them had developed a buzzing noise over the years. I had recently replaced the factory head unit with a Pioneer unit. I know these are not high end speakers, but I thought they would at least be equal to the cheap original factory speakers. Very disappointed with these speakers.Read full review

Soundstream has made a great 6.5 component system. The good: The Sound is excellent. Easy to install took about 1 1/2 hours to install. Price is really great. The bad: Don't exceed the power rating. Had to turn my amp down. The crossovers will not allow you to run to much power. If you exceed the power it will shut off the speakers. That's good technology. Just turn your car off, and wait about a couple of seconds. Restart you car it will come back on.

Had to replace tweeters with another brand. Other than that it's a super great sound system. Very rich low bass and the crossover is A-1.
