Jacks snap right into place, and stay there
Wish this was my first choice... I tried another brand of surface mount box but found it needed the top to be installed to "sort of" hold the jack in place. That brand requires you to hold the jack in place by the cable while snapping the top on. Even then, when plugging in a cable, the jack pops back into the box. Wasted money. This box has a design we are used to, snaps built into the base of the box that holds the keystone jack in place, Also like the two pillars that provide a way to add strain relief using a tie wrap.Wish this was my first choice... Perfect for the job it is intended for!
After a recent lightning strike on a local hydro transformer pole(!!) which fried my router, PCs and other ip gear, as I tried to rebuild the network I found that many wall punchdown terminations and several Cat5e cables were also fried! Rather than rewire in the walls I ran temporary (probably going to be permanent) cable and used keystone punch downs and these boxes as wall terminations. Easy to Use, worked a treat.
