I bought this gazebo at the end of last summer in 2015. We just put it up in January and it has already encountered it's first New York blizzard. We got over a foot of snow and it pretty much just slid right off! The winds were 35-45 MPH and the thing didn't even budge. It looks great and was pretty easy to put together. The instructions were pretty self explanatory. The hardest part was lifting the roof unit up onto the legs. We had 4 adult men, my 14 year old son, my wife, and daughter. It definitely made it alot easier having a bunch of people helping but it was still pretty heavy. The gazebo was packaged extremely well. There was no missing or damaged parts so I was very happy. The one knock I have is that the paint finish in spots isn't the greatest. Nothing a can of Rustoleum couldn't fix. I also think for the price it would have been nice for the manufacturer to include the privacy panels. Overall, a very good product for a very good price.Read full review

This gazebo is our 3rd in a line of gazebos, and the first with a hard roof. The frame of the first (soft top) was badly damaged in a wind storm. The second, also a soft top, lasted two years with the fabric of the top deteriorating even though stored inside for the winters. This SunJoy hard top should be a long-term addition to our yard, as it is both very sturdy and has a metal roof. I also use corner tie-downs with stakes and rope - I don't trust anything any more. I built this 500 lb gazebo with 142 parts and 780 nuts, bolts and washers by myself, but I used the comments from others and built it from the ground up, adding the roof and cap in individual pieces. I did NOT follow the instructions (which are not very good in their descriptions). The trick using this route is to carefully measure spacing and mount the posts to 2x8 planks (or a deck) for support until you get the cross bars added to the posts. Everything else went as planned. This is a more expensive gazebo, but I believe it is more than worth the money and labor spent for it. A great product!Read full review

Gazebo went up fairly easily. It took my wife and I about three days to assemble, working at an leisurely pace. It was set up as an permanent installation. The Gazebo can be assembled by two people, by assembling the roof frame then lifting one side and installing two legs. Then installing the braces on those two legs then lifting the other side and installing legs and braces on it. Then installing the roof panels from a ladder. (7 ft. ladder is helpful.) The only problem that I had was with the roof seam covers not fitting at the top. drilling some holes and a few screws will fix that problem. Outside of that I wish that the roof panels were made out of heaver metal, as I worry what hail might do to it. Its been up for about a week now and look good. Its nice to sit out in the shade on these fall afternoons.Read full review

Well, after watching this for a while, I was finally ready to get one. Came in two boxes, over 500 lbs, so be ready when it arrives to have a spot for it. Then unboxing it and separating the parts, I started assembly in my garage. I had my 14yr old boy and a helper. Keeping track of all the pieces was a chore, but manageable. Luckily I have a big garage. The reason for assembly in the garage was due to constant rain and weather issues, outside would have been difficult. First day the top was done in about 5 hours. Then we assembled the columns on my deck where the Gazebo was going to be placed. This was fairly simple and easy. Then came the top. Now it weighed over a hundred lbs. One helper did not show up, so my wife became the fourth helper. Yes you will need four guys! The top needs to be lifted about six and a half feet to be placed on the columns! It was a bit of a struggle but fit in the columns quite easily. Then came all the rails for the curtains etc. All told, it took a couple of days. I was the only skilled one in our group, so it might assemble quicker with skilled help. To summerise, I do recommend this gazebo if you need a structure that can withstand snow loads and does not have to be replaced every few years like my previous gazebo. Fabric top gazebo's just don't last long enough, that's why this one is so popular. Highly recommended, but be ready for it.Read full review
