This is a good way to reuse a grenade primer. It’s easy and simple to setup. The use of a 209 primer makes for a very load intruder announcement....louder then I thought. However on mine, the primer gets ejected once fired. I haven’t had to dig the spent primer out. I also had to use 30lb. Monofilament because the 10lb. I had would snap every time. I spray painted the monofilament with green spray paint made for a perfect blend.

Yep, cancelled security system. Got my own with 3 of these and 3 infrared sensors. Perfect for me as I'm retired and home a lot more. I rigged these with 70 lb test braided, olive line. 15" high works great with my dogs if they stray into sector. When I received these, I was worried that it would take a lot of force to pull out pin to activate, but that is not the case. I knew the line was there, and it triggered before feeling resistance. Or at least, by the time you feel it....oops, too late...pow! I believe an intruder would run for the hills after it goes off (although at some point would have to stop and clean himself up :-) I am ordering a couple more for inside house when I'm away for extended time.

They work pretty well. Takes a bit of a pull to pull the pin against the spring tension, but they work... a few times. After they go off a few times the metal piece that is spring loaded and has the firing pin becomes bent (from the power of the 209 primer) causing the pin to hit the primer off center. You can bend it back.. not sure how many times this will work before the piece breaks. I've shot one maybe 10 times (bent it back twice) and it's ok so far.

This little contraption works well, except that the pin which holds the spring in place slides right out. Will need to secure that pin with tape or liquid weld before using. However, the price is still an overall good value for this product

I Cleaned & oiled them. They don't work with .22 Blanks from the hardware store? I thought they would! But, I'm going to try the 209 Shotgun Primers as soon as I can get them! Thank You! Fred Hill
