One of the best King Stories

There was a time when I could not wait for one of Stephen King's books to come out. That was the late 80's and early 90's. This was, in my opinion, one of his best offerings. It ties in with another story that he had to publish,(I won't spoil it if your new to the genre), and the story is indeed a page turner. It was about 1993 or 94 when I first read it and over the years I had wondered just why they hadn't made a film about this particular story, well it looks as though my wish may be coming true. The film stars Carla Gugino and Bruce Greenwood. It is scheduled to be released on September 29, 2017, by Netflix, so I will have a chance to see if the makers of the film can capture the intensity that the book offered with just about every turn of the page.

  • The shame of Stephen King

By far the worst book Stephen King has ever written. The entire book is without a single redeeming quality. It is a great guide on how not to write a book. If a less popular author had written this it would have ended his career. I know of no other book by King that is not at least a decent read if not a masterstroke. On a scale of 1-10 every book he has written is at worst a 6 and far more often a 9 or 10. Geralds Game became the redheaded step-child of Kings work with a 1 that was awarded because the negative score it deserved was not an option. If I were King I would not ever admit I was the author, imply that my wife wrote it than used my good name to lend it credibility, than I would refuse to even speak of that horrid book ever again.

  • Great read.

This wasn't one of King's scariest novels as far as horror goes. This is the first book I have read by this author or any other that has physically effected me. Chapter 31 made my heart race and head dizzy. I had to put the book down in fear that I may actually pass out and mentally prepare myself to pick it back up and finish. Never in my life has a book made me react in such a way. It's a great read and completely panic filled.

  • Book is excellent

Book is excellent and a great read and and well taken care of cant put it down !

  • Fugedabout Gerald's Game

Yeah, Stephen King CAN be a fine writer; FIRESTARTER is one of my favorite all-time books in this genre. But in this one, the characters seem punched out of cardboard, the plot is SO predictable, and the whole story falls as flat as an ant stepped on by an elephant. Gerald's game is to handcuff his wife to a bed at their summer place (only it's fall now) and go at it. Of course there's a twist--he dies before he can complete the deed, and his lackluster wife is still trussed up there. I feel King decided he'd write a sex story, and then whipped it out in a very short period of time. And there's no sex. I was shopping for another copy of FIRESTARTER and happend upon GERALD'S GAME in the list. It was a very cheap hardcover--and now I know why.
