My Mom and I went to Vegas and saw Leno's show at the Mirage. It was outstanding; the absolute best possible. A friend gave me a letter to give to Jay if I happened to meet him in person. She had been on Leno's show 15 years earlier and NBC had told her at the time that they would send a tape of her appearance to her. She never got one and had contacted NBC several times over the years with no positive result. After the show, I met Jay Leno in person and he immediately offered to autograph something for me and got a blue sharpie out of his chest pocket. I explained that most importantly I wanted to give him a letter from my friend and told him of her request. He took the letter explaining politely that he could not promise that he could do something about the situation, but that he ... My Mom and I went to Vegas and saw Leno's show at the Mirage. I told him that I would get copies of his books for myself and my Mom and afix these holographic stickers that he signed to the books as nameplates and thereby making them "autographed copies". This is the book that I used my autographed sticker on. The next day, I excitedly called my friends long distance and told them that I met Jay Leno and gave him the letter that their daughter had written for me to give to Jay. We were all happy! The following afternoon (Monday) my friends called me and said that Jay Leno had called them! He had located the NBC video of the show and had made a DVD and a VHS of it to send to their daughter. Imagine their surprise when they simply answered their phone and Jay Leno was on the other end! .....and with unbelievable news! My friend is a Fireman and at the end of the conversation, since Jay had done him a favor for his daughter, said nicely in a gesture to Mr. Leno: "If you ever get to my parts; I'll give you a ride on my firetruck." Leno graciously declined by saying, "That's alright; I have one." This true explanation of events shows how wonderful and positive that Jay Leno is, as a person. Many would not "bother with or go to any trouble" for a fan with a request that would require effort and focus. He was agreeable and accepted the "project" openly and honestly stating that it might be something that he couldn't accomplish and for me to know that. His best was more than outstanding and rendered a better result than could be dreamed up! The DVD and VHS, along with a signed 8X10 with the message "Yo,Sorry this took so long!" arrived the next day to my friend's house. If someone wants to know of a wonderful person; know that this celebrity fits that description exactly. His demeanor and actions show that he cares about others and does everything in his power to do agreeable things that could easily be ignored or lost in the process. This book is exciting to read from cover to cover. Jay Leno has a way of bringing the audience along in an informative way to the inside story of his life as he goes from mischievious prankster to the Super Star he is at present.

well written and sounds just like him. I don't know how he survived the early years working in some of the sketchy places. Also I always support a fellow gearhead.

Nice Guys Finish First
Jay Leno is my idol and reading his story told in his own words put me center stage in his life. I devoured the book in one day and laughed out loud and marvel at all he has endured to become number one. Nice guys do finish first.

Excellent! This is a very entertaining book.
As a huge Jay Leno fan, I was very eager to read this book. I read it from cover to cover in less than a week. It was a very entertaining and comical story from start to finish, and also very touching in some points. I would highly reccomend this book to anybody who is a fan of Jay Leno.
