    I still use x10 for non-critical applications

    X-10 is old technology but it is very inexpensive compared to Insteon and other newer home automation products. It works very well for non-critical tasks like turning lights on and off and dimming them remotely. I had another remote identical to this one for almost ten years and it always worked well (until my nephew's new puppy got hold of it). Also, I can't remember ever having to replace its small "button" battery. I'm hoping the this one will be as reliable as my old one was.

    old one worked new one not the v

    there are more than two styles of these units my first has a open battery holder and it worked great for years and the contact pad for two switches quit so ordered a new one the guts are not interchangeable and battery holder is sleeve type but all exterior marking are alike and new one does not function 10 foot distance from control center !! mystery !!

    The remote that I received is non-functional.

    It doesn’t work. I programmed it and it repeated the program, but didn’t transmit the code. The case on my old one had broken where the keychain attaches, and that is why I ordered the new one. I ended up putting my previous electronics in the new case and disposing of my old case and the new unit’s electronics. Your product arrived with non-working electronics. I was very disappointed that this particular unit didn’t work, since I know the product normally is a good functional device.

    Good for the price

    I have had a few of these. They will last for years, but sometimes fail. For the price, I treat them as expendable once past the warranty period.

    Good Product at a Fair Price

    Remote is programed for A 1-4 out of the box. But is easily re-programed for other housecodes. This unit is a better fit for your hand than some of the smaller X-10 keychain remotes. Good product.
