Manage your eBay Store

eBay Store provides a highly customizable platform with a professional finish. It even has a time away setting if you need to be away for a while.

Customize your eBay Store

You’ll find all the tools for managing eBay Store in Seller Hub - opens in new window or tab. You can manage stock, put items on sale, organize your listings within custom categories, select items to feature, and more.

You can find more about managing your store in the Seller Center - opens in new window or tab.

If you haven’t opted in to Seller Hub, you can do so when you select Manage eBay Store below.

Schedule time away

If you need to take a break from your store for any reason, you can schedule some time away. From your Time Away settings, you can choose whether you want to Allow item sales or Pause item sales

Here’s how to schedule your time away if needed:

Schedule time away

  1. Go to your Time Away settings.
  2. Select Schedule time away.
  3. Select Allow item sales while on time away or Pause item sales while on time away.
  4. Set a Start date and End date for your time away.
    • If you allow item sales, your time away can be up to 15 days
    • If you pause item sales,  your time away can be up to up to 30 days
    • You should schedule your time away to start a day before your time off to accommodate any last day orders and end it a day later than your return date to accommodate processing of all pending orders
  5. Select Apply.

A message will be displayed on your storefront informing buyers that you are on time away along with your time away end date.

Set an Automatic response

You can set up an automatic response for anyone who contacts you through eBay messages during your time away: Here's how:

  1. Go to your Time Away settings.
  2. Select Automatic response.
  3. Select Message when on time away.
  4. Set a Start date and End date for your message.
  5. Type your message in the Automatic response box.
  6. Select Apply.

For detailed instructions see our Time Away help page.

Change your eBay Store name

While you can change the name of your eBay Store in Seller Hub, we don’t advise it because any marketing links or bookmarks created by your buyers will no longer work, and your store will also be ranked as a new site in some search engine results.

If you still want to change the name of your eBay Store, the new name can’t be:

  • the username of another member on eBay, or be misleadingly similar to the username of another eBay member
  • identical or misleadingly similar to another company’s name that’s protected by trademark law
  • a name that contains the word “eBay,” or a name which is misleadingly similar to “eBay”

We take our role in protecting intellectual property very seriously. Before you rename your store, read our article on intellectual property rights and using eBay’s intellectual property.

Change your eBay Store subscription

You can get lower fees and additional business tools by upgrading your store to a higher level. Or, if you currently have a monthly subscription, you can change your renewal cycle to a yearly subscription.

Here’s how to change your Store subscription level:

  1. On your My Subscriptions - opens in new window or tab page, select Change subscription.
  2. On the Choose a Store Subscription page, find the eBay Store level you want to change to and choose Select and review.
  3. On the Review and Submit page, review your order and then select Submit order to confirm your subscription changes.

To change your eBay Store’s renewal cycle:

  1. On your My Subscriptions - opens in new window or tab page, select Change subscription.
  2. On the Choose a Store Subscription page, you’ll see your current subscription. Select Change to monthly if you want to go from yearly to monthly, or Change to yearly if you want to go from monthly to yearly.
  3. On the Review and Submit page, review the details and choose Submit order to confirm your eBay Store term changes.

Your subscription levels and change in terms are subject to the Terms of Service - opens in new window or tab you agreed to when you signed up for your eBay Store.

Tip
You can create your own unique eBay Store categories and put items into two store categories at a time at no extra charge.

If you're not going to be able to ship orders while you're away, remember to turn on your time away settings and pause item sales. If you only turn on your out-of-office email response, your listings will still be visible, and buyers will be able to purchase your items as usual.
