When you buy an item, you can find the item number in your order details, purchase history, or your confirmation email. If you ever need to speak to us, or your seller, about a purchase, you'll need your item number.
How to check your order details
You can find all the information for a particular purchase, including shipping address, item number, and any tracking details, in your order details. To find your order details:
- Select Purchase History - opens in new window or tab.
- Find your item in the list.
- Select More actions and then choose View order details.
From here, you'll also be able to contact the seller, leave feedback, let us know if the item hasn't arrived on time, or start a return if there's something wrong.
Your order confirmation email
When you purchase an item, you'll receive an order confirmation email letting you know your order's complete, that you've paid the seller, and that your item should soon be on its way.
The confirmation mail will contain your estimated delivery date, any available tracking information, and your item number.
We send confirmation emails for every purchase. If you can't find it, check your junk folder. If it's not in your junk folder, go to the Account - opens in new window or tab section of My eBay to confirm that your registered email address is correct. You'll also find the information sent in email in your purchase history - opens in new window or tab order details.
If you have an issue with PayPal, you should contact PayPal customer service - opens in new window or tab directly.
Your PayPal transaction ID
As well as your eBay order details, if you paid for your item using PayPal, you'll have a separate PayPal transaction ID.
You can find your PayPal transaction ID by logging into your PayPal account and then selecting the specific payment on your account summary page. You won't need this ID on eBay, but it's useful if you need to speak to PayPal about a transaction.
