Standard Protection Plans

Allstate Protection Plans cover your eBay purchases from mechanical and electrical failures during normal use.
  • 1 to 4 years of coverage, as indicated at the time that you purchase your protection plan.
  • 100% parts and labor coverage – with no deductibles.
  • Item repairs, or the full item price paid back to you if Allstate Protection Plans can't fix it.
  • Covers qualifying new, refurbished and used items – even if there's no USA manufacturer's warranty on your item.
  • An Allstate Protection Plan must be bought within 30 days of item purchase.
  • If your Allstate Protection Plan covers jewelry, the following terms apply: Your jewelry is covered for failures caused by defects in material and/or workmanship. Loss, theft, lost center stones, resizing and maintenance are not covered. Coverage is available for lost side stones up to .25 carats where the loss is a result of a defect in the jewelry.

Accidental Damage Protection Plans

Allstate Protection Plans with Accidental Damage Coverage protects your eBay purchases against both accidents and malfunctions during normal use.
  • Item repairs, or the full item price paid back to you if Allstate Protection Plans can't fix it.
  • Examples of coverage include: drops, spills and other accidents during use, including liquid damage from immersion, and protection from mechanical and electrical failures, as well as product breakdowns.
  • Covers item repairs, or reimbursement for the replacement cost of a new product if Allstate Protection Plans can't fix it.
  • Accidental Damage Protection Plans are only eligible for new items.
  • Protection Plan must be bought within 30 days of item purchase.
  • Your Protection Plan starts on the item purchase date.

Five-Day Service Guarantee: Allstate Protection Plans will provide a cash settlement for the replacement cost of your item or fix your item and ship it back within five business days of the date your item was received at our service center (unless manufacturer service is required), or you are eligible for a full refund of your protection plan price.

For large items with in-home service, a local technician will contact you to schedule service within five business days of claim approval (since in-home service is dependent on the customer's schedule, repair times are not guaranteed within five days), unless manufacturer service is required.

Why should I get an Allstate Protection Plan?

Since electronics may fail, an Allstate Protection Plan can provide additional protection for your eBay purchases in eligible categories. Allstate Protection Plans will make sure your item is repaired or you are reimbursed per the Terms & Conditions if the item breaks during the protection plan period.

How do I purchase an Allstate Protection Plan?

If the item you are purchasing qualifies for an Allstate Protection Plan, you have the option to purchase it directly from the item description page prior to checkout. After checkout, you can still purchase it from the payment confirmation page or through your post-purchase reminder email.

How long does coverage last?

For new items: Coverage lasts 1-4 years as indicated at the time that you purchase your protection plan. This coverage starts on the date of purchase of the covered item.

For Refurbished & Used Items: Coverage lasts 1-2 years as indicated at the time that you purchase your protection plan. Coverage starts on 31st day after you purchased your item.

When does coverage start?

Coverage starts on the day you purchase your item unless your item is used or refurbished, in which case coverage begins on the 31st day after your item purchase.

Please note, for pre-existing conditions reported in the first 45 days from payment, you may be eligible to file a claim under the eBay Buyer Protection Policy.

How much is covered?

For replacement payments: You are covered up to the amount you paid for the item. Once that amount has been paid out, your protection plan is considered fulfilled. If you would like coverage on your new item, you need to purchase a new protection plan for it. For repairs: You're covered for multiple repairs, up to the amount you paid for the item. Once the cost of repairs meets the purchase price of the item, your protection plan is considered fulfilled.

What does Accidental Damage Protection cover?

Common accidents during normal use, like drops, spills, cracked screens, and liquid damage.

What is excluded?

Please refer to the Protection Plan Terms & Conditions for the full list, but there are five notable exclusions to your coverage:

Pre-existing conditions: Items sold in non-working or partially working conditions. Any issues on used or refurbished items in the first 45 days are considered to be a pre-existing condition (accidental damage in the first 45 days are covered, if you purchased an Accidental Damage Protection Plan).

Accidental damage: Unless an Accidental Damage Protection Plan is purchased, items that are accidentally damaged are not covered - such as liquid damage, or cracked screens.

Accessories and Consumer replaceable parts: Accessories and parts that are meant to be replaced by the consumer, such as batteries and ink cartridges, are not covered. Internal batteries, such as iPhone batteries ARE covered.

Software: Software issues are not covered.

Certain Types of Items: Industrial equipment used commercially such as servers or items fraudulently misrepresented are not covered.

What plans cover drones?

All drones must be covered by a Drone Protection Plan, not by a Camera/Camcorder Protection Plan. Even if the drone has a built-in camera, it still must be covered by a Drone Protection Plan—not a Camera/Camcorder Protection Plan.
