Tekken 6

"Tekken 6" is a fighting game released for consoles on October 27, 2009, for the PS3 and Xbox 360 consoles and November 24, 2009, for the PlayStation Portable console. The title was developed by Bandai Namco Entertainment, and it builds upon the events of "Tekken 5." This was the first game in the Tekken series to be released multi-platform and feature multi-tiered stages.

This entry in the "Tekken" series is rated T for teen. The Entertainment Software Review Board or ESRB indicated in its review that the title contains themes not recommended for play by persons under the age of 13.

Although the console versions of the title were launched in October and November of 2009, this "Tekken" entry was first available to the public in Japan in the form of an arcade machine in November of 2007. An update was crafted for this original version, and this updated content was released along with gameplay improvements in the home versions. This update was subtitled "Bloodline Rebellion."

This "Tekken" title features both single-player and multiplayer portions. Included in the single-person portion are the main campaign and situational trials. In these trials, gamers must battle under certain conditions within a set amount of time. The latter mode is available only on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions.

While the game boasts both local and online multiplayer modes, the PSP version is not equipped with online multiplayer; these gamers can compete against one another only if they have two copies of the title, two PSP systems, and are in the same vicinity. However, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 players can play against others over the internet as the title does not feature dedicated servers. This means that, unlike many games, this game's online multiplayer portions will stop functioning only when the PlayStation 3's and Xbox 360's main online services are shut down.

In addition to being released in traditional disc form, this "Tekken" game was released as a limited edition. Only the PlayStation 3 and 360 releases are available as limited editions. These editions include the game itself, an art book, and a fighting stick, which is a replication of the work's original arcade controls that can be used from the comfort of home.
