LG MetroPCS Cellphones & Smartphones

Whether you are looking to upgrade your current MetroPCS phone or are switching to MetroPCS as your new carrier, LG offers a good package. From talk and text to the latest smartphones for data, you’ll find everything you need to get the most out of your MetroPCS plan. Stylish and sleek options are combined with the reliability of the MetroPCS and T-Mobile network.

What network is MetroPCS on?

MetroPCS is the prepaid wireless carrier for T-Mobile US. They offer the same T-Mobile network and LG smartphones with the flexibility of a prepaid offer. This means that your MetroPCS phone uses the same towers and other carrier features as T-Mobile.

Where is the SIM card slot on the LG phone?

Locating the SIM card slot on most LG cellphones takes a few simple steps. This process is similar on most models, including those from other manufacturers. To locate the SIM card on most LG models, follow these steps:

  • Turn of the cellphone.
  • Use the release notch to unhook the back cover.
  • Remove the back cover.
  • Locate the SIM card slot above the battery compartment. Most models have this slot on the right-hand side. There may be two slots there: one for the SIM card and one for an external memory card.
  • Replace the back cover when finished and turn the cellphone back on.
How do you switch services?

Switching your service from your old MetroPCS phone to a newer cellphone or smartphone is a simple process. The steps you will take to accomplish this vary depending on the network technology being used — either GSM or CDMA. CDMA phones do not use SIM cards. It doesn’t matter what type of cellphone from which you are switching as the process of switching services is the same for all brands of cellphones:

For GSM phones:

  • Power off both devices.
  • Remove the active SIM card from the old phone.
  • Insert the active SIM card into the SIM card slot of the new device.
  • Power on the new device and conduct a test call.

For CDMA phones:

  • Power off the old device.
  • Locate the ESN/MEID number on the new cellphone. This is often found on the box or under the battery cover.
  • Contact MetroPCS customer service by phone or by logging into your account online.
  • Take the steps provided to upgrade your account and activate the new phone.
  • Power on the new device and conduct a test call.
