Flex Seal

Flex Seal is a spray liquid polymer sealant that is designed to be a repair solution for patching leaks on a variety of surfaces. It can be used to fill small cracks and plug larger holes and gaps that allow the flow of water into unwanted spaces. Available in a variety of colors to best suit its use and application, this product is designed for both indoor and outdoor use (certain cautionary measures apply).

What is Flex Seal made of?

This sealing compound found in Flex Seal is made of durable mastic rubberized coating specially formulated to spray directly onto target surfaces in liquid form. The compound seeps into any hole, dip, or crack and dries to a flexible, durable, watertight seal.

How is Flex Seal sealant applied?

To apply the sealant, remove the lid and shake well. Spray in an even and sweeping motion 12 to 14 inches away from the application surface. Be sure to cover an area that expands beyond the affected area where the leak has occurred. Apply several thin coats to create a single, durable covering. When using outside, only apply if temperatures are at 60 degrees Fahrenheit or above. Treated areas can be smoothed and textured with the use of a brush or masonry tool.

How long will Flex Seal take to dry?

Drying time for Flex Seal liquid compound is dependent on several factors: temperature, humidity levels, and application method are primary factors. When properly applied, the compound will typically feel dry to the touch after two or three hours. Total curing time is approximately 24 hours and the bond is designed to get stronger over time.

To what surfaces is Flex Seal made to adhere?

When properly applied, the Flex Seal liquid compound creates a durable yet pliable bond to a number of surfaces where leaks occur. The product can be used as a sealant for wood, tile, metal, masonry, concrete, glass, fabric, aluminum, plastic, drywall, cement, porcelain, rubber, vinyl, and more.

Can Flex Seal be applied to a wet surface?

Even though the sealing compound is designed to adhere even to wet surfaces, it will always produce the best results when applied to clean, dry surfaces. It will take longer to dry and cure if applied to a surface that is wet or colder than a constant 60 degrees Fahrenheit. Check the seal after 3 hours, then after a day, and again after three days for signs of unwanted water when applying to a wet or cold surface.
