How to Replace the LCD Screen in Your Blackberry Z10

Smartphones are replaced commonly because their screens get damaged after an accidental drop or other mishap. However, they often can be refurbished with a replacement LCD screen. You can find a replacement LCD screen for a Blackberry Z10 cell phone.

The screen on a smartphone consists of a glass digitizer that sits on top of an LCD display. Because both can be damaged at the same time, they are often sold as a unit, meaning you may end up replacing the display to repair a cracked digitizer. There are a few scenarios in which you may need to replace the LCD screen itself:

• Dropped phone: A hard impact can damage the delicate electronics of an LCD screen, which is impossible to repair. If you see a scrambled or broken-looking display when you turn on the Z10, the cell phone will need to be replaced.

Follow these steps to install a replacement screen:

• Step 1:Turn the Z10 over, so the back cover is face up. Find the groove on the bottom center of the phone, and press on it to release the back cover.
• Step 2: Remove the battery by lifting the bottom corner with your fingers.
• Step 3: Using either a T3 or T4 Torx screwdriver, remove the nine screws from the inside panel. Pull the panel out of the phone to expose the main board.
• Step 4: Using a pry tool, locate the five flat-top connectors that secure the main board and detach them. Carefully remove the main board, and set it aside.
• Step 5: Use a T2 Torx screwdriver to remove the five screws around the edges of the case.
• Step 6: Turn the phone over, and use an opening tool to pry the touchscreen from the case, starting at the rectangular corners. Remove the damaged screen from the case.
• Step 7: Install the new screen components, and follow these steps in reverse to reassemble the Z10.
