1 of 1 found this helpful Product is acceptable quality - not as heavy gauge metal as I hoped for, but seems to be put together well. Installation was pretty easy. Only takes one hole through door to allow the shaft to connect the two halves. Make sure when you drill that hole that you use the drill size specified AND that the hole is perpendicular to the door surface for the entire drill. That will allow easy alignment.
The shaft is long to accommodate different door thicknesses. That's good! But it is not scored in any way to facilitate shortening the length if needed. I think that could be better. So you may need to mark the length needed carefully, put it in a vise and cut it with a hacksaw to get the correct fit.
Anyway, lots of people don't recognize the twist-knob as a doorbell. But those that do give it a spin and think it's a great solution in lieu of wires and wireless units that don't work very well.
So - I would recommend it. The value is good and the quality is fine. Enjoy!
