- *****- Feedback left by buyer.More than a year agoVerified purchasePrompt delivery, great price and item was exactly as described. The marker set arrived in perfect condition as the seller did an excellent job packing them for shipping! In comparison, I ordered a couple other sets of this brand from the Ellen Hutson store and all of them arrived with some damage, and for one of the single markers they sent the wrong one. I was nervous taking a chance on such an expensive item with an individual seller here, but turns out, it was the MUCH better option.
- *****- Feedback left by buyer.More than a year agoVerified purchaseSeller accepted my offer, packaged this item with great care, and item is as described! Only thing I would recommend is that the item is cleaned prior to shipping. However, I still rate 5 stars. Thank you!Reply from: wareskscrapbooks- Feedback replied by seller wareskscrapbooks.- Feedback replied by seller wareskscrapbooks.I truly apologize! I did not have a small brush on hand that was needed to reach the light dust in all the numerous small nooks and crannies of this intricate piece and did my best. I'm so glad it arrived intact and that you are enjoying it! It is a beautiful piece!

Why I Love The Southern Heritage Gift Receipts Cookbook
1 of 1 found this helpful As any lover of The Southern Heritage Cookbook Series knows, these cookbooks are a true delight! There are 19 different books in the series (18 actual cookbooks and one Index.) This is a highly collectible set of vintage cookbooks and if you can find a complete set, I highly recommend you grab it for your own cookbook collection!
The Gift Receipts Cookbook is one of the harder-to-find and therefore one of the more expensive and most sought after books of the series. So, when I found this one 'with' a dust jacket (which is rare), it was a treasure!
Home-made food gifts are always a big hit for Christmas and the Holiday Season. I can't think of a better way to say I love you enough to take the time to make you something special!
This cookbook is chock-full of interesting and delicious recipes like:
* Violet Vinegar
* Green Tomato Pickles
* Old-Fashioned Apple Butter
* Chocolate, Hot Fudge, Carmel or Butterscotch Sauces
* Home-made Marshmallows
* Popcorn Balls
* Orange, Coconut, Peanut, Blond, Chocolate, or Sour Cream Fudge
* Buttermilk Pralines
* Chocolate-covered Cherries
* and the list goes on and on...
After you make one of these delicious recipes, put it in a mason jar, a basket or a special container. Add a festive ribbon or bow and a home-made gift tag and you've got a heart-warming gift.
Not only are these cookbooks full of great recipes and gift ideas, they all have wonderful stories of days long past from simpler times. They also include vintage pictures of old fashioned candy stores from the late 1800's and turn of the century pictures of children, adults and interesting places and things.
Also included in all the books are very informative How-To's. This particular book explains syrup stages in candy making and shows a picture of what each stage actually looks like (how handy for someone just starting out and learning how to make home-made candy!) It also gives good-to-know information about pickling and how to make jelly without added pectin.
So, if you're a person who loves to curl up with a good cookbook as you day dream about the different recipes, here's one that'll keep you happy for good while.
And now, if you'll excuse me, I'm on my way to the kitchen to make a cup of Earl Grey tea, then off to find my old comfy robe as I snuggle into the Lazy Boy and pull out my copy of The Southern Heritage Gift Receipts Cookbook. The plan... to find a special recipe for everyone on my Christmas gift list. Should be an easy task with this great book. So....see you later!
