Judy Moody Star Studded Collection
My first grader absolutely loves Judy Moody! Her moods and thoughts can help any first to third grader understand that they are not alone in their feelings and everyday stresses. These books entertain my daughter, but they also open a door to communicating with her about some of the common things she faces in her life.

Riding in Cars with Boys
This is an excellent movie! I bought this because my first copy got scratched after being watched too many times! It is a movie that transcends generations and is easy to relate to for many people in many different types of situations. It tells the story of a girl being raised in the 50's who gets pregnant at 15 years old. After being pressured into getting married, she struggles along with her new husband in caring for the baby while trying to make it through school. The movie takes the watcher through the 50's, 60's, 70's and 80's with the family, dealing with issues of drug use, financial issues, and single parenting along the way.
