Great value for computer itself, but you'll need a new keyboard/mouse ASAP!
I bought this iMac on behalf of my mom, because she needed a new computer and this one was offered at a great price. She and I both love the computer itself, but the keyboard and mouse are not up to par for what we expected from an Apple product. After only 2 days out of the box, the keyboard stopped working and the iMac would not recognize it. New battery, zapping the P-RAM, unplugging for 15 minutes and restarting the computer, turning the keyboard on and off did not help. It still does not recognize the keyboard. The mouse also does not work as it is supposed to, and my mom hates it so much that she has decided to buy a different keyboard and mouse for the new iMac. Her previous computer was the G3 iMac, which worked perfectly right out of the box, with no problems. We are sorely disappointed in the keyboard and mouse for this computer, and hope that Apple will offer a choice of keyboard and mouse or else get these peripherals working right. $1100 is too much money to spend for a computer that must not only have a USB modem bought for it (there is no phone modem included; this should have been mentioned in the product info and wasn't) but must also have a new keyboard and mouse bought within a week of first use. The casing of the iMac also becomes extremely hot after a few minutes of use, which is something Apple should see to, as well, in future models. All in all, it's a nice computer with crappy peripherals.
