KONICA MINOLTA Dimage A2.  8 MP Digital Camera + battery pack
Sep 22, 2021
Brilliant Must Have Camera
I'd previously purchased a superb mint A1, so I wanted the A2. I didn't think I'd find one but I did, same mint condition, in original box with main accessories included (no data cable or software though). The A2 looks just the same as the A1, but the A2 has an upgraded EVF and live view screen. I believe it has a magnesium alloy body too. I cannot recommend the A2 high enough. The firmware was already updated to the latest version, so accepts CF cards higher than 2gigs. I had to bid for this camera, I won it paying a very fair price, the kit also included the original battery grip, AA battery cage too, which I've seen going for £200, which was the only one I could find for sale. This has been a great purchase for me. I now have the A2 and the A1 in mint condition. Fabulous.

Pentax K K200D 10.2MP Digital SLR Camera (Kit w/ DA 18-55mm and 50-200mm lenses

The Pentax k200d Excellent dslr, buy it YES.
The Pentax k200d is an underrated dslr, but believe me it's a well equipped camera, well built, steel framed, and weather proofed, with over 60 seals around the camera body. The k200d may well be getting a bit older, but it has all the programs needed to take great photos, even in the climate of megapixel show off new kids on the block. First some basics, the k200d is equipped with an image anti shake system, and sensor dust shake removal on start up. In the software you can pull up an image that tells you where dust is on sensor, giving the choice as to whether to use the sensor shake or not. The K200D has two screens, the large rear screen, and a top plate Lcd screen which shows you all the info you need on your current camera setting. The large rear screen is not a thru the lens live screen, however. As many users of cameras with live view screens can testify, they can be battery killers. Composition/focussing is done thru the optical view finder, nice and clear, with focusing areas and separate information on exposure etc at the bottom. The rear screen is used to view your pics, and to view menu settings where you can make changes to ISO, white balance and a whole host of other key settings. The usual dpad and several other buttons are present too, including a function button, a RAW button to instantly allow you to shoot in raw mode. And a dedicated button to allow you to reset the camera back to default settings. The usual program dial on top left, with all the usual program modes. Manual mode is a dream to use. There is also the, capstan wheel on the back right allowing you change settings on the fly. Around the shutter/power on dial is an extra useful feature, an exposure /depth of field preview shutter release, without the need to press the shutter, very handy, as the picture will not be stored until you say yes or no. There is much more to this, at first simple looking, camera. The control surfaces are uncluttered and uncomplicated. You can shoot using auto focus or manual by sliding a switch on the front body. Auto focus is fast, with the view finder telling you when you are in focus. I personally like manual focusing, as I can choose the focus point. The view finder is where you do your work and is generally more accurate than a live view screen. The view finder has an adjustment slider for of us who have eye sight problems or where glasses as I do. Now, the k200d uses AA batteries, unfortunately, not any old batteries will do. The k200d has a known battery voltage problem, you can research this on the net. You can't use any old rechargeable battery, or alkaline battery either. These will die, within a very short usage period, and I mean short. However, forums on the net have sorted the battery problem. The batteries to use are rechargeable Eneloop batteries by Sanyo or Panasonic, available from ebay. I got mine at Malins, I'm using Panasonic ones, you get four batteries, ready for use and the charger for just £19.95 at Malins. You can of course buy the Eneloop batteries without the charger, but I strongly recommend that you get the charger pack. Many k200d users use Eneloop batteries, as they are of stable voltage. The k200d loves these batteries. In conclusion. Yes the k200d is a mature DSLR, well built, strong, weighty, well equipped, but essentially, easy to learn the basics with, and if like me, you understand how to use dslrs, great results can be had from the k200d, I'm really enjoying using my k200d, only had it a couple of weeks, but already it feels like it's becoming a good friend. Oh by the way you still update the firmware, it's dead easy to do it too. Just search the net for firmware update, or visit the Pentax website. Do I recommend buying the Pentax k200d, yes absolutely, it's construction is based on well established SLR designs. A solid performer. Using renowned Pentax glass. I didn't buy my k200d on ebay, but from a well known high street reseller.
