Great little player for quick use!
I was looking for something small (and preferrably cheap) to sync music to that didn't require software. The SDMX1 totally fit the bill!
I have a recording studio and often want to throw quick mixdowns to disk so I can listen to them in the car. Up to this point, I was always burning CD's to do this. I started trying to use my iPod's instead (180GB Classic and 4GB Nano), but was always running into problems with iTunes. In the end it was just easier to just burn CD's, but such a waste.
I found the SDMX1 for around $20 new, and it's great. It shows up just like a flash drive in Windows, so I can just drag and drop my mixes and I'm done. The interface on the unit is VERY basic, but works 100%. The sound quality is the same when compared to my iPod's. There are no playlists, but I don't care as I'm always looking for specific tracks (which read just fine on the little LCD). It does support folder creation to separate your music though. I don't have to worry about charging it as it takes 1 AAA. I use it at least 5 days a week, probably 45mins a day, and I have yet to change the battery since I got it 8 weeks ago.
Great buy!!!
