I misunderstood that the batter head supplied on the drum was equivalent or better than the one shown in the post. The seller was really responsive and even offered to send me the older head if I preferred. I chose to keep the original one. Product and seller exceeded expectation in every way! Sorry for the confusion.

The head on your drum is a Remo Ambassador (10 mil) branded by Ludwig. It is arguably better than a Ludwig Weather Master (which was 7.5 mil - thinner - and discontinued). All new Ludwig drums ship with the Remos. Of the 250+ snares we have sold *not one* buyer has complained about the heads.
