Extra sturdy sling shoulder bag
The fabric will obviously last a long time, unlike my last bag (faux leather). The pockets are a decent size without being "just too damn big". The zippers are holding up well and don't jam. When this one finally dies, I will be getting another one to replace it.

Good fan for a reasonable price
A fan is supposed to do one thing - move air. This fan does that and doesn't make a ton of noise in the process. It appears to be well built. If I need another fan, I will be buying a second one.

Garmin Nuvi 785T GPS
It is my first GPS, so don't have anything to compare it to except my own expectations. My husband and I are both computer geeks, so figuring out how to run it was quite easy. My MIL (who has a horrible sense of direction) visited us and we introduced her to the unit. She was able to punch in basic commands without a problem. We got her the same unit for Christmas/her birthday (the same unit as ours means that we can give her "tech support" on the phone easier), and she took to it like a duck to water. THAT is a BIG endorsement on the interface simplicity!
On the negative side, the mapping can be slightly off. My MIL's house number is 7469. The GPS says that that address is her next door neighbor's house. But this is not a big problem most of the time. The bigger concern is the maps not having businesses in it that have been around for several years. Playing with it at the beginning, we asked the GPS to locate "Taco Bell" in Fishkill NY. It didn't have it in the database. We told it to locate "Dunkin' Doughnuts" which is located next to Taco Bell. It guided us to that, but just as we are about to turn off the main road into it, the voice said "Turn right into Dunkin' Do Nuts". Everyone in the car practically fell on the floor laughing. Try it yourself!
In all, a very good unit, and I was happy enough with it that I bought another one for my MIL.
