Sony Under Cabinet AM/FM/Weather & CD Clock Radio ICF-CD553RM with Remote
Apr 14, 2016
Great improvements!
We had the ICF-CDK50 in our kitchen for about 4 years before it died - the tuner quit tuning! Although we were quite pleased with the CDK50, this unit is a much better product. It includes a weather band and even has a TV band. The TV band isn't much use anymore since most stations aren't broadcast on the same channels as before. The sensitivity of the radio is comparable to that of the CDK50 and I like the easier-to-use controls. The unit is larger that the CDK50. The depth is such that the back needs to butt up against the wall under the cabinet so that the front doesn't stick out too far. Doesn't leave much room for lights under the cabinet. Cord storage in the back doesn't interfere with mounting.

Letter from the author
I had borrowed this from my local library and was disappointed to find that the library had plastered labels on the first page of a 2-page letter from the author. I was delighted to find that the copy I received included the letter and no labels covering it!
