threes a crowd - not in my house
1 of 1 found this helpful i bought this on the strength of listening to my bro's ipod . hes got an a album on there of one of their concerts -
i just think (and i know im late in sussing these out as theyve been going about 15 years ) that for a contemporary pop band they write EXTRAORDINARILY good songs ,
i love most of the tracks on the album ; but especially private universe ,distant sun and fingers of love -with pineapple head and locked out close behind .
i find thier songwriting style ;whilst not similar , just a thorough as Supertramp - its not just the lyrics or the tune or the singer or the cadence of the melody - its ALL THESE together that makes them and this such a great album .
i wish id heard this ten years ago .

if i never heard another song bar just one ,it would have to be this ladies rendition of somewhere over the rainbow ...... it brings tears everytime i hear it.
all the more sad when you realise this beautiful and talented songstress never will be able to sing for us again due to her untimely ,and far too early death
fields of gold is another worth the price of the album alone .
buy it , you wont be disappointed

this house deserves a crowd - come and join them
hi , im lucky enough to have listened to this prior to having bought it ,
i DONT review things lightly , and i dont give this 5 stars lightly either
if you love crowded house ,you'll love this .......
if you love great concerts , you'll love this .
if you love great music , period , you'll love this ,
from the first ten seconds ,i was hooked , id NEVER heard ( or so i thought ) of crowded house before and bang ......... it was instant Karma , they are only what i could describe as New Zealands answer to the Eagles ,BUT , saying that would be unfair to pidgeon hole their music in that way .
the atmosphere from this live cd leeches into you and the further it goes on , the more you feel like your actually there ,listening ,enthralled at hit after hit comes at you from the band .
look at the list of tracks and you think hmmmm , i know that , and maybe one more , upon listening you'll find that completely untrue as classic melodies like distant sun , weather with you and private universe claim their rightful place from your subconscious to being entrenched in your soul .
play this once , and you cant understand why you didnt get this 10 years ago , play it three times and you'll wonder why its not been played every single week ........
