This record is easily a Top Ten all time for me. I was never an Emmy Lou fan until this record. I heard this playing in a Best Buy store and it's one of the few times I've actually asked a sales associate what was playing. Emmy Lou's voice is captivating and guitar on this record is some of the best. All this mixed by one of the best producers and if I'm alone on an island and I have 10 records to take...this one's a no-brainer. Plus it was a favorite my honeymoon in Colorado.
This c.d. probably did more for Daniel Lanois than for Emmy Lou,and it's a great listen now that radio isn't playing it to death. It's boilerplate Emmy Lou being channeled by Lanois' slick visions of melancholy, and powered, as usual, by her ability to draw on the best musicians in the world
I READ A REVIEW ABOUT THIS ALBUM AND IT SAID THERE IS A HUGE SOUNDFIELD ON THIS CD. HAVING AN EXTREAMLY MODIFIED SYSTEM NOW I DECIDED TO CHECK IT OUT EVEN THOUGH IT WAS COUNTRY. NEVER WAS I SO HAPPY TO TRY SOMETHING NEW. I OWN THREE OF THEM. THE US VERSION, THE REMASTERED AND EXPANDED US VERSION, AND LAST THE EUROPE VERSION ON GRAPEVINE. THE GRAPEVINE VERSION IS BY FAR THE BEST RECORDED VERSION AND I STILL CAN'T BELIEVE HOW MUCH I ENJOY THIS WHOLE ALBUM ESPECIALLY THE DUET WITH NEIL YOUNG AND HIS HARP. WHAT A AWESOME VOICE EMMYLOU HAS.
Superb CD highly recommended

I like some of the songs but don't think it's one of her best. That being said it's still Emmylou and I "can't git enuff of that ol'timey music."
