Wolfenstein 3D was a major revolution when it first came out in 1992. Back then it was impressive, although today it may look dated. I got it it first for DOS back then. The violence and gore had no equal. I had played Operation Wolf already, but this time, enemies bleed. Including dogs! However, the most innovative things were the improved 3D scenery (with more textures than Battlezone, or Stunts, for example) and that "stealth" factor. Enemies could also sneak you from behind, so it's best if you do it first. On a negative side, because of the maze-like structure of the levels, gameplay can become tedious, and sometimes you will be lost. Of course something remarkable is the topic of the game. This is not the first World War II videogame I can remember (see Eastern Front: 1941, for example), but never saw such explicit references to Nazis and their symbols. And it will even offer to you a showdown with Hitler himself. When Wolfenstein was ported to the Super NES was some sort of disappointment. Lots of censure proved that gameplay alone was not enough to make Wolfenstein shine. Aware of this, went for the Game Boy Advance version. I'm impressed: It's very close to the original. Gun bursts, screams, barks and even menu navigation sound just like the Sound Blaster did. The only compromise they did was the music, sadly. However, in overall this is a solid conversion. I recommend Wolfenstein 3D to any old fan of videogames, or to youngsters who want to learn and experience the origin of modern games.Read full review

I remember playing this on a 486 computer. To have it again on a game boy, is worth the 15 bucks. Wish it was upgraded a little, to make it more playable on such a small screen.
