Notes
Atlantic knew they had something special in Hall & Oates, assigning Aretha Franklin/Rascals producer Arif Mardin to the duo's 1972 debut "Whole Oats." This was the sound of Philly soul crossing over to pop, while "War Babies" (their third LP, which became their first to chart in '74) found them in prog-rock territory thanks in part to another major talent from Philadelphia: producer Todd Rundgren. The first pairing of these two is a limited-edition 2-CD set with new notes and remastered sound: "I'm Sorry," "All Our Love," "Can't Stop the Music," "Is It a Star" and more! Friday Music.
