This spotting scope is solidly made. Materials and construction are very good. The focus adjustment was very tight. Optical performance was not the "wow" factor I was hoping for. The view at 100 yards was really little better than my Nikon Prostaff 3 Spotting Scope at 1/4 the price. I admit that this scope has great light gathering abilities and a higher power zoom for longer distances but overall it does not come close to my Leupold Gold Ring for clarity and field of view. The scope is good but overpriced. I should note that Vortex has a great warranty and stand solidly behind their products.

Very nice spotter. Clear, sharp and very little miraging if any around the edge. I currently own a Diamondback also which for the money is a very good scope but for spotting long distance shooting, the Razor can’t be beat.
