Most savy shooters know the Aimpoints were first and the best of all battle hardened red sights. Trijicon has come on strong with their ACOG and later the MRO. The MRO has a larger objective lens than the Aimpoint and the glass is just as good. You can buy a new MRO for $400.00 now while Aimpoints at still $200.00 more. The see through mount comes with the MRO. Both sights are bombproof but I think the MRO takes the prize for the best go-to-war red dot for the money.

This is a military grade American made red dot sight. 5 year battery life on #3 brightness setting (constantly on) Waterproof till 50 feet. Comparable features to Aimpoint , but half the size and weight. Trijicon optics have been in U.S armed forces service for decades. At a price point of less than $500 , you just can't beat it. Continuous on , and battery life beats Eotech , but some people like the reticule and parallax free picture of the Eotech. You can't go wrong with Trijicon optics.

When it comes to optics for self defense you just shouldn't skimp on something cheap. Lets be honest, save your money for a few more weeks and get a high quality optic like this MRO that's battlefield proven. Indoors the dot can look a little distorted but not even an issue at all. Once you get outdoors this little dot is amazing. The large field of view is really awesome. People complain about blue tint that is present on all high quality optics. Doesn't effect accuracy or target acquisition at all. That just means the glass is coated well. I run mine with a primary arms 3x magnifier behind it with a flip to side mount. The MRO is built like a mini tank. Get what you really want and what will make you happy. I can look at my ar15 with confidence and peace of mind knowing I got the right optic.Read full review

Not a cheep budget item designed and assembled with compromises. This is build quality that delivers and is worthy of any upper tier firearm. Being a red dot combined with my astigmatisms and yes under certain light conditions I may get a less than crisp dot depending on the brightness settings. This is not a fault of the MRO and and does not prevent me from being right on target!

I try to buy once, I buy the best I can afford and I'm not disappointed with the MRO. This thing is built to last, installs easily and adjustments are a snap. The 2 MOA red dot is perfect for paper or steel targets, but shines best on a groundhogs moving skull at 100 yards... Love mine, makes a good rifle a great rifle!
