This book tells quite a lot about what was originally known as "The Total Sports Network" - from their early years, where the unknown early rounds of the NCAA Men's Basketball tournament, the pioneering coverage of the NFL Draft, and - of course - Australian Rules Football, to the current day, with various sports programs - and telecasts of actual sporting events - taking center stage, if you will. This book is worth the money, and is a very good read.

The birth and development of ESPN is a wonderful history of of all the original broadcasters (many of whom are still there) and the travails of the venture and desperate search for capitalization that eventually came to fruition when ABC purchased the company. The defining moments - one of which was to broadcast the America's Cup live from Australia - are all extensively covered. A bit too concerned with the financial / business end sometimes bogs down, but the portraits of the broadcasters is hilarious and poignant. Good read!
Very interesting take on this huge monster.... Learned about every aspect! Wanted to learn more about all the stories i had ever heard, and this book certainly opened my eyes! Each character you see on TV in there own words!
