Were you born in the 80's? Did you grow up watching the Wonder Years? Did you play NES relentlessly as a child? Well then you will absolutely love The Wizard! Yes, there is a story in the movie that has really nothing to do with gaming (Nintendo) and it's not the most horrible plot in the world, I've certainly seen many worse movies from this era. It's actually not too bad. But I primarily bought this movie because it's basically one long Nintendo commercial showcasing many of the popular NES games of the time and one in particular notorious NES accessory. And it's absolutely awesome. A very tiny spoiler alert about to come here: it's a bit based on the real life Nintendo World Championships that took place in 1990, at least the climax of the movie (well the first climax of the ending relating to video games and Nintendo). It's actually pretty neat, like I said, if you are of the Nintendo generation, you'll absolutely love this movie. You'll even get to see an extremely young Christian Slater. Other than that there are definitely moments that are incredibly cheesy within, but, that doesn't take much away from it. This is a good movie to unwind with after a particularly rough day. I can't speak for everyone, but I can be put into a good mood via nostalgia. For a very reasonable price on eBay, you can't go wrong!Read full review
It's a good classic 80's movie. That I remembered from when I was a little kid. And the DVD works good and the picture is good. And it was new and sealed, and the DVD has no scratches.

This is a family movie that anyone can enjoy. If you were born in the 80's or late 70's, you played Nintendo. The original 8-bit grey box that looked loke an easy bake oven and you had to blow on and in the games to get them to start. Then with a quick slap on the side reset reset push the game down and then jam a box into the consol to get it to work properly. Ahh the good ole days. You couldn't just put in a disc and wait for the load screen to end. Anyways, this film is about a boy with a traumatic past that has set his sights on California. Running away from home, his brother and their friend help the boy reach California for the ultimate Nintendo video game tournament. Hustling people along the way at Double Dragon, Megaman, Metroid, Mario, TMNT, and many other classic games, the three get money for traveling from the skills of the youngest one, the Wizard.Read full review
