I really haven't had alot of time to sit down to really look at the book in detail. I know Dr.Phil has great stuff & wouldn't promote this book if it wasn't good. I just recently started watching his show on a regular basis so there's still things I'm learning. This book & his other 2 books that go with this guide do work hand & hand. I didn't know he had 3 books out about weight loss which included recipes,food guide w/carbs guide & so on. I'm learning alot about weight loss & how important it is to loose weight & get a grip on it esp. from his show & his books. I would start w/ The Ultimate Weight Solution~~the 7 keys to weight loss FREEDOM!! I'd start w/this book 1st then get his recipe book along w/the food guide. You won't be disappointed at all w/ his books!! If you're 15 pounds or more over weight buy his books 1st before doing anything else. Learning to eat right is the 1st thing to weight loss bec' we all need understanding & knowledge which are so powerful then exercising after that~~they all work together!!Read full review
First of all, I have to state that I'm probably Dr. Phil's second biggest fan (Oprah Winfrey, of course, being his first and foremost biggest fan)!!!! That being said, this is a no nonsense, common sense, book; written in layman's terms so EVERYBODY can understand it. It is sooooooooo EASY to apply and follow the guidelines he sets forth it isn't even funny. This book goes hand in hand with his Ultimate Solution Weight Loss book, and if you'll just follow what the books recommend, the weight will drop off!
This is a very comprehensive food guide: if you can eat it, it's in here! It's also a great companion in the car when you go out to eat, for men and women alike. Dr. Phil is an equal opportunity educator and you really get a sense of his genuine concern for the American diet as a whole. I would highly recommend this in conjunction with the Ultimate Weight Loss Solution, and he has an Ult. Wt. Solution Cookbook that I love, too. Good stuff, all of them, and worth the time. Good luck!
For a long time I have been fighting to lose weight and I tried Dr. Phil's weight loss plan. It worked out great for me, I lost about 30 pounds and carried this food guide in my purse everywhere I went! (Hence, the term 'food bible') It contains practically every food known to man! It was a great tool when used in conjunction with the other books that go along with his weight loss plan. Follow the plan, be patient and you will see results, too!
Its a very easy to use guide on what to eat and what to avoid eating. It also has the 14 day rapid start, very specifically, broken down for you. A great addition to your Dr Phil library.
