I love any book by Debbie Macomber and this is no exception. This is a story of a woman who wants change in her life, to do something daring. She meets a man over the internet and decides to go meet him, only he lives in Alaska! She quits her job and flies off in the horizon to meet him. On the plane she is seated next to a very large burly man. She just wants off the flight. At the airport, her man isn't there to meet her. Dalton is sleeping off a drinking binge. She just wants to get to his hometown, so she asks around and finds another pilot by way of the cafeteria worker at the airport. When she sees who it is she nearly faints. It's the man from the plane. He agrees to take her to her destination. On the small plane, they start to take and when she tells him who she is meeting, he flips. He refuses to take her to Dalton, the rat. He takes her to his hometown and wants her to spend the night at his sisters place until he can fly her out in the morning. When they get there, his sister is away and she has to spend the night at his place. Not too bad. In the morning, the weather is calling for a major storm and they can't leave. They end up spending three days together. She meets all of his male friends because there are no females here. She is having a wonderful time. She does get to call home and she tells her mother whats going on. Her ex-boss is also concerned. They both decide to come to Alaska and take her home. Her mother is the first to arrive. They go to the local diner and have coffee. This is where her mother meets Pete. the local store owner. She falls instantly in love with him and they go back to his place for more than coffee. Next her ex-boss shows up. When he does, he has a plan to ask her to marry him so he can get her back. She refuses. Then, out of the blue Dalton shows up to claim her. There is a huge confortation in front of the diner and Dalton takes a hit. In the end she does stay in Alaska and she does marry the man from the flight. Hey, even her mother finds a man in Alaska. She nows is part owner of the local store. You gotta read this book. It will not let you down. I loved the part where, I can't remember her name, comes face to face with a huge bear and lives to tell the story. I would pee my pants if a bear stood up in front of me on the street. I don't like bears! I also loved the part where she walks in on her mother, Lucy, and finds her in bed with Pete. They have only known each other for five minutes! I enjoy some humor in my books. Debbie can make me laugh on one page and make me cry on the next. Her books are one of a kind. I read everyone that I can get my hands on. Do me a huge favor and read this one. It really is worth the time. You will love it!Read full review
It was a good short story but I am used to Debbie Macomber having a more involved story line in her book. It was a cute quick read.

I loved this book. Eye catching and enchanting right from the start, it is some what the way we as book readers would dream of a great love story. Everyone loves great endings of a wonderful love story. I remember trying to push the main character along in the right direction. But time and the heart wins out. All the characters were excellent in their rolls. This book is one to reread on some cold snowy night with a good hot cup of coffee.
Debbie Macomber has a beautiful way of writing a true romantic story. I purchased the book because I really like the author, but each book carries you away to magical love story. I highly recommend the book as well as the author.
I bought the book because I like the author, the price was good, and the story was a good light-reading story set during winter time in Alaska. bHardback book and dust jacket were in excellent shape.
