Concise. Good book to keep next to your bed.
This is a book that you curl up with on long winter nights. I is light reading the magazine story all over again. Since I was 7 years old I have love Sherlock Holmes that is over 64 years ago. I know the ending to most of his stories but this book brings the excitement back as if I never read one of his stories. It will be one of the jewels of my collection

I don’t know how it happened, but somehow or other my original copy of this book disappeared. I loved it because the strand magazine illustrations just shouted the Victorian era. There were many book options if I just wanted Holmes stories, but those illustrations made all the difference for me. So after a quick search on eBay, I had my lost book again. Welcome back Sherlock and Watson! so nice to see you again! (Literally)

The Best Of Holmes
I received this book as a birthday present in the seventies from my husband, I was very much into Sherlock Holmes and read his complete works three times! Time past on, children came and grew up, things got shuffled around the basement and we moved. I forgot all about Mr Holmes while I was caught up with my busy life. I am now living in Florida and saw an old black and white movie with Basil Rathbone as Holmes and remembered how much I enjoyed Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's style of writing and story content. I went on e-bay because I magically seem find everything I desire there and could not believe that I actually found the exact same book! For anyone who loves mystery and fantastic story telling this is the book to read, and with original drawings from his publications included, these stories will really take you back in time.Read full review

Recreating the orginal Stand pages fans see how Paget's images have done as much to shape our image of Holmes as Conan Doyle's prose.
