The book I have is the second edition copyrighted 2003 576 pages by J.B. Wood, Part IV Centerfire Rifles. This book covers a wide variety of firearms with a good selection of military surplus and factory rifles. Old and new. It also includes for each rifle illustrated a list of compatible models (the nagants for example). It could go a little more into what the differences in the types are, but it is not really necessary as most of the differences tend to be comsmetic. You are not only given helpful hints on take down, but also hints on assembling each firearm. Some of the Firearms covered are; Mausers, Browning BLR & BAR (commercial), Calico, Austrian 1895, AR-15, Hakim, Rasheed, French Mas, G .43, Carcano, Arisaka, Remingtons 8 600 700 742 788 Rolling Block, Ruger 44 Carbine Mini-14 No 1 77 96-44 99-44, AK-47, Mosin-Nagant, SKS, Sako, Savage 99 110 340, SIG SHR970, SM 1894, Swiss 1911, TCR 87, Krag, 1917, Springfield, 30 Xarbine, Garand Weatheryby's and Winchesters, and a handful of others. Overall I would have liked to add this volume to my collection a few years ago. I am sorry I waited this long. It is a very good companion to a set of exploded drawings.Read full review

love it very well written and easy to follow the sequence, jut what I needed to help me keep my guns in good shape
If you own a rifle this book will be a usefull addition to your cun case. It actually shows step by step takedowns which should keep the average user from taking a firearm apart too much for cleaning and not being able to get it back together.
