This book does an excellent job of giving all the information on why you should eat what you should eat and why you gain or feel bad when you do (or don't) eat a certain way. In the end, it was basically saying the eat a super healthy version of Atkins / South Beach but it helped to see how to do it as a lifestyle change versus a crash diet with all of the food exchanges. It will take a while to get the hang of it as anything that requires a lifestyle change but if you are looking to be able to eat what you want and can accept that you can't do it every day at every meal in any quantity you want or in other words, if you are looking for the perfect, "Eat like you have some sense" diet, this is the book for you. It's a very easy read but don't expect to loose weight in the first 2 weeks unless you have NEVER done a ridiculous diet before. If you have ever done any crash diets or super restrictive diets, don't expect to lose a pound for 2-4 months HOWEVER, you should see weight melt off at that point if you are following the "diet" reasonably consistent. I enjoyed this book and the other one that this author wrote about getting more fiber in your diet and how it fills you up so you don't feel hungry. I have already started losing weight by adding more fiber. Wish I had found these books earlier on but decided to check them out when my Dr. said I should eat more fiber.

I have a hypoglycemic response to all sugars so I really have to watch what I eat and my food choices are limited.
