In this pulse-pounding action-thriller, global warming triggers the onset of a new Ice Age. As tornadoes flatten Los Angeles, a tidal wave engulfs New York City and the entire Northern Hemisphere begins to freeze solid. Now, climatologist Jack Hall (Dennis Quaid), his son Sam (Jake Gyllenhaal) and a small band of survivors must ride out the growing superstorm and stay alive in the face of an enemy more powerful and relentless than any they've ever encountered: Mother Nature!
While the plot line and dialogs leave a bit to be desired, the movie on the whole is an excellent disaster film. The special effects are top notch, and the movie is filled with lots of them.
If you are really into having a very well developed plot and characters this is not the movie for you. If you like to see special effects and alot of action, while having a story to follow, you will love it.
And considering this being Blue-ray, if you have the conponents to watch this on blue-ray in 1080p, it is worth it. It makes the special effects just that much better.
The film is not for everyone. I enjoyed it, and the main plot is an interesting one. The old global-warming will destroy the world.
This is an amazing movie not only to see but to own. When i saw it again on tv. I knew i had to have it. This is a movie that will make you think could this happen to us now. Remember God will do what it takes to get our attention.
A very good movie revealing the human condition aimed more at the positive than the negative.Provoking unity under extreme conditions. Even while being in survival mode a willingness to risk death to protect the well-being of others. The strength of family and self sacrifice. It was disappointing this movie was not available in 4K.
My review is it's a movie you can watch the special effects are okay in it is it entertaining not really can it be boring sometimes but it's a movie it's Blu-ray that's all I can say check it out for yourself and see what you think
