I have 2 goats that I keep in my fenced in yard. They are good entertainment but they liked to hang out on my front porch and my sidewalk so my porch and sidewalk ended up looking like a barn yard with all the goat poop on it. They also were hard on the siding of my house with their horns. They have a building of their own to go into and they have the fenced yard. I was trying to think of ways that I could keep them off the porch and sidewalk and I thought about underground fence. I did some research and saw an article where goats can be trained on the fence. They are as smart as dogs so I figured it was worth a try. With the goats help, I buried the wire around the porch and the sidewalk (they helped by licking my ears while I bent over putting the wire in the ground and they kept trying to chew in the unburied wire). I completed the loop around the outside of my house by sticking the wire under the vinyl siding so that they wouldn't chew or rub their horns on the siding. The kit had detailed instructions on how to train a dog on the fence by using a leash and taking several days to train them. I couldn't really do that with the goats. I tried to put the flags in the ground but they just followed me and ate them as I went. I decided to just power up the system then put the flags down and hope for the best. It didn't take long for them to get shocked. They really didn't like that! They weren't happy campers the first day but they came around pretty good the next day. They learned very quick where they weren't to go and were back to their playful ways. I now have a clean porch and sidewalk. As an added bonus, now I can leave the door unlatched so that my dogs can let themselves back in without having goats in my house like I did before. The system works flawlessly. The shock is plenty strong. I have it set on 3 on one goat and 4 on the other out of 5 settings (5 is the strongest). There are some things that could be better. The fabric for the collars could be a little thicker. The power unit for the fencer seems like it is made cheap. I think for the money the system could be a little higher quality components but like I said, it does work good.Read full review

This replaced another underground fence control the worked somewhat but had to be replaced about 5 times in the past two years (two maybe due to lightning strikes on the ground or power lines). The first night it was installed the larger of the two dogs got out as she had been doing with the other control, but when I brought her back in (with the fence turned off) and reset the fence, both dogs ran to their hiding place and would not come close to the boundary. It has been about 3 weeks now and neither dog has tried to get out again. I think we finally got their attention.

One day is all it took for my escape artist to stay in the yard. We now know that our fur-babies are safe in thier own area, Sure beats running home several times a day to round them up. Very easy to install, took us about 4 hours from start to finish. We did not bury the wire (one is a digger) but put it into PVC around the yard. It protects the wire from lawnmowers, weed eaters and digging. The wite PVC also serves as a reminder to the dogs that it is the line in the sand to not cross. It was easy to put the wire around a herb garden to keep themy from jumping on it, My big guy will bolt to the corner of the yard but hits the brakes hard within five feet of the line. I set up the white flags around the yard so they will know where to stop. The directions were easy to understand and online had pictures to give us ideas and how tho set off areas. I would recommend the stubborn big dog to anyone who needs to contain their babies.Read full review

I have 3 large breed dogs and I set up this system using 700 ft of the wire in 3 days and it works great. Only problem is the transmitter has to be mounted inside away from metal rain or freezing temperatures. Shipped quickly arrived well packaged and exactly how I expected.

Good fence for less than an acre yard. I also have the 2 dog unit for 2 acre yard, it has lightening protection this unit does not. This one will work well for our camp yard.
