Dr. Robert Lange and Dr. Sonja Verburg are two scientists. For years, they have worked for the ESA in relation to the construction of the GOCE (pronounced Goche) satellite. At present, they are at the spaceport at Plesetsk in northern Russia. The satellite is more accurate than its predecessors and is able to map the gravitational field of the Earth. Measurements over northwestern Bolivia have indicated low gravity. Together with a team from National Geographic, Robert and Sonja investigate the jungles of Bolivia and find a strange building that will change the world. Since 2001, Tom Hogendoorn (1959) has worked as an ICT teacher at the MBO level. Previously, he worked as a radio officer in the Merchant Navy and as a team leader in an IT company. Besides writing, he practices aikido which has been his sport for years. In his debut novel, he was inspired by engineering, physics, mathematics, and above all, cosmology. He knows how to captivate the reader by combining reality and science fiction with adventure and romance.
