I recently found a 4 disc set with almost every Stevie Wonder song that I could want. I've had satellite radio for so long that I hadn't bought a CD in over 10 years, until recently. Just wanted collections of my favorite artists that had all of the tracks that I wanted in one set. You can't always find that but I got close this time. I'm 50 now so I think that I still have Songs in the Key of Life on vinyl, and the big hits like Sir Duke and I wish were of course on the 4 disc set. But one of my top 5 all time favorite Stevie Wonder songs is Saturn, which wasn't on the 4 disc set. Which is called "At the Close of a Century." It has a massive 70 tracks by the way. So for such a good price on eBay to get a brand new copy of Songs in the Key of Life on CD was a small price to pay to complete my collection and have every Stevie Wonder track that I've ever heard of with just the 4 disc box set and the 2 disc Songs in the Key of Life, his biggest release ever by far. A true living legend.Read full review
Breakfast and dinners at the table with the family. AND, the house filled with loving, meaningful music is something we enjoy everyday in our household. And STEVIE WONDER is a big part of that. He's on the Ipod and played all the time. He's a fantastic musician and singer, who effortlessly knows how to riff and sing from his heart and soul. He pulls you in and it sounds so great. His message of love, equality and hope is so necessary in these days and times; LOVE'S IN NEED OF LOVE TODAY. HAVE A TALK WITH GOD, SIR DUKE, I WISH, KNOCKS ME OFF MY FEET, SUMMER SOFT(so sweet), and PASTIME PARADISE (Coolio's Gangsters Paradise inspiration). ISN'T SHE LOVELY, NGICULELA - ES UNA HISTORIA - I Am Singing (SO SWEET), IF ITS MAGIC, and my ultimate favorites: AS, and ANOTHER STAR. Our family members range in age and love STEVIE WONDER and his soulful music. Highly recommended and very necessary for any great music collection.Read full review
The(Songs in the key of life) is definitely one of the most popular works by stevie wonder every accomplish. I am a collector of old school music. I'm one or two years younger than stevie so I grew up lisening to Motown. It was in our lives we lived it. Things was slow and understandable. When someone says (the good ole days) we didn't have much however, what we had (Motown sounds) was better than anything that will ever be. As you know, stevie is just one of so many that's gone on before us but there's a few that's still left and just their present means all the world to us. I very grateful for living that part of American history. Motown music is the universal sound of the world. OUTSTANDING!!
This is without a doubt Stevie Wonder's masterpiece. The songs and music is consistent throughout the album. The lyrics speak of past, present, future, life, romance, reality, hardship, politics, love,God,peace, politics, and hope. This is a very heartfelt inspirational album, and "Saturn" is one of the best songs ever written and played musically,by Stevie Wonder.Other favorite songs by Stevie Wonder which are not on this album are Superstition,Living for the City,Higher Ground,Frontline,You Haven't Done Nuthin' and Ribbon In The Sky.But,this album is a must buy!!!
i remember this album as a kid and it's always been my favorite. listen to it and you will appreciate that stevie wonder IS A GENIUS! lyrically no album is its equal, production-wise it's just as incredible! is there anything out there that is as inspiring, hopeful, and spiritual as this?! today's artist should listen to this and realize that wonder's music provokes deep-down feelings that can't be duplicated by poorly written songs that today are hailed as 'music'....every day you have a different favorite from this album!
