Tom Robbins employs his offbeat humor to explore the ages old conflict in the Middle East. His constant similes and metaphor raised a chuckle or two as I read through the book. I have read other books from Robbins and consider this to be one of his better efforts. he pokes fun at organized religion and philosophizes about life in this novel about a young starving artist and her successful artist husband. I enjoyed the book, but would stop short of calling in an "excellent" read.
Not Tom's best but a well constructed book. it explores the history of race relations, especially middle eastern ones. A very entertaining read. Skinny legs and all will make for a great rainy sunday read.
Tom Robbins is a unique other that you just wont be able to put down. He brings inaniment objects to life and controversial topics to the surface. He is funny, entertaining, and a very descriptive writer who is bound to captivate you for the little while it will take to read his book. To truly understand what I mean... read it.
I have owned this book twice and loaned it out and it wasn't returned. This book has it all, sex, drama, history, culture and some uncommon wit. Tom Robbins has an awesome way of putting things and keeping your interest. I love this book one of his best.
It’s “okay.” I wouldn’t recommend it.
